STEM
From Monday 10th February, Year 7 students in Science learnt about the impact of mining Winter Hill for Indium Tin Oxide - a key component used in the screens of all smart devices.

This culminated on Tuesday 25th February, with Year 7 participating in a STEM day in the school hall. This day was based around how to transport the Indium safely down the mine cliff face, the transportation of Indium to the processing unit and then the use of gliders to transport the Indium to Manchester Airport.

All of year 7 were fully engaged throughout the day and thoroughly enjoyed developing their STEM skills.
