Our storybooks are arranged by Accelerated Reader levels and those not on Accelerated Reader are arranged in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. These books have genre stickers also where applicable to help you make your choices.
Quick Reads and Graphic Novels
We have a range of shorter reads and comic book novels and picture versions of popular books.
Non-Fiction (information books)
These are arranged by Accelerated Reader level where applicable and also have Dewey reference numbers, organised according to the classification scheme [see here for guidance]
This section contains dictionaries, thesauruses, as well as other useful reference materials for all subject areas.
Reference books should not be taken out of the Library, but can be used within the Library for study or research.
We carry editions of ‘Issues’ and ‘Issues Today’ – magazine style resources that cover contemporary social issues suitable for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
We carry the mini Independent daily. Make sure you read newspapers regularly, to inform yourself about current affairs and issues going on not only in the local area, but nationally and internationally. This is important for many of the courses you may be studying.
