Where can Sociology take me?

Studying Sociology at GCSE equips you with a range of knowledge and skills that opens up many different Post 16 qualifications and career prospects.


Many people with a qualification in Sociology go in to a job role directly related to the subject but others go into a job roles throughout the public and private sectors including:

  • local and central government;
  • industry;
  • commerce;
  • the NHS;
  • education authorities;
  • further and higher education;
  • charitable, counselling and voluntary organisations.
